What are core stability programs?

Core stability is a term used to describe the activation of the deep truncal muscles at appropriate intensity and time, in order to provide strength and control to the spine. Often following back pain or injury, the “core stabilisers” switch off. This leads to overloading and poor mechanics of the lower back, greatly increasing the risk of an acute injury as well as long-term wear and tear on your body.

Our core stability program service

At Leap Health Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre our physiotherapists are skilled in identifying deficiencies in the core stabilisers and facilitating re-activation and strengthening of these muscles.

Our physiotherapists will set up a core stability program as either a home exercise or supervised program in our Leap Health Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre gym.
