Enthusiastic young physiotherapist Alistair Wood has joined the Salamanca clinic team in 2020. So we decided to learn a bit more about him! You’ll see Alistair featuring in some of our Exercise Library videos.
What’s the thing you love most about being a Physiotherapist?
Working with people to regain their confidence and independence with movement. I find helping older people improve their mobility is the most rewarding.
What’s your best tip for a weekend warrior?
My best tip for the weekend warrior is to have fun in your chosen sport/activities. If you are playing competitively listen to your body and be realistic about your capabilities, with that, if you have had a long time off exercise gradually build up your tolerance.
What is your favourite meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner?
Dessert (sticky date is hard to beat).
My motto is…
Physiotherapy doesn’t work unless you do.
You wouldn’t know it but…
I always save spiders from being washed down the drain.
I’m inspired by…
Physiotherapists who aren’t afraid to question the way things are done. Also by those using the best research evidence to guide their professional practice.
I can’t live without…
Good company.
Tea or coffee?
Coffee.
If you could be a superhero for one day, what would you be?
Kinesio-tape man.
