Ben Hayes

Physiotherapist
New Town

Ben joined the Leap Health team over 10 years ago now after moving to Hobart from the NW Coast of Tasmania, via a stint on the Gold Coast.  Ben completed a Bachelor of Human Movement at UTAS before completing his Masters of Physiotherapy at Griffith University.

Upon completion of his studies, Ben has worked with the Gold Coast Suns (AFL) before spending close to the next 10 years working with Cricket Tasmania covering the Tasmanian Tigers in the Sheffield Shield and the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL.  In addition to the Ben has been on several international tours with Hockey Tasmania along with The Australian Burras (Men’s U21 hockey team)

Over the past 2 years Ben has spent more time in the clinic and has commenced extra training to become a registered Hand Therapist.  This involves diagnosing acute hand/wrist injuries along with fabricating appropriate orthoses for acute injuries or post-surgical rehab.  Outside of hands/wrists, Ben has a keen interest in all aspects of orthopaedics – either acute rehab from injury or post-op rehab.

Outside of the clinic Ben is currently splitting his time between the golf course and family time with his wife Dyani and toddler Philadelphia.  Some may say the ratio leans towards more time on the golf course, but I’m sure Philly will join one day!
