Hayley Hechter

Hayley is originally from Cape Town, South Africa, completing her physiotherapy studies at Stellenbosch University, graduating at the end of 2024. During her training, Hayley gained experience across a range of government healthcare settings. This included placements in a tertiary hospital, where she worked in specialised units such as burns, neurosurgical trauma, and vascular surgery. She also had the opportunity to work at a rural clinic where she was involved in home visits within the local community.

Hayley has a strong interest in sports physiotherapy and, during her final year of study, completed an advanced practical placement focusing on sports-based physiotherapy in a private practice setting.

In 2025, Hayley completed her community service year in rural KwaZulu-Natal, working in a completely different cultural and linguistic environment. This role saw her treating patients in an outpatient clinic, eight surrounding satellite clinics, and homes for people with disabilities – many of which could only be reached by 4×4!

Outside of work, she is passionate about the outdoors and loves anything that gets her moving! Hayley enjoys hiking, running, playing hockey, and spending time in nature. She is happiest when she is in or near the ocean or having a barbeque with her family and friends.
