What is hand therapy?

Hand therapy is the combination of advanced study and experience in the assessment and treatment of injuries and conditions of the hand and upper extremeties (forearm, wrist, arm, elbow, shoulder). The aim to assist patients to return to a fully functional lifestyle and participate in every day activites.

Splinting and management of upper limb conditions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Acute hand and upper limb traumatic injuries
  • Elbow, wrist and hand fractures
  • Mallet finger injuries
  • Finger fractures, dislocations and sprains
  • De Quervains Tenosynovitis
  • Dupuytrens Disease
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Post – surgery of all upper limb conditions
